New TV-Shows!

I got into some new tv-shows lately and wanted to share my thoughts. So is anybody of you watching one of these?!

Flash Forward
The first TV-Show my boyfriend truly enjoyed. He hates series because if you want to know what happens you have to watch it every week. My bf is more the movie kind of guy. So he was annoyed as I told him it really is another TV series after we saw the trailer. But he still liked it. I liked it. My dad liked.
And then it ended with a cliffhanger and they didn't pick it up for a second season. Truth be told I thought the storyline was perfect for one season only. They could have solved most mysteries and leave us with a few secrets to think about. But that's not how TV works. True it wasn't the strongest show but this show deserves a better end than this. I wish they'd known it's the end before shooting the last episodes. *sigh*
Finally we saw a strong female (lesbian, single mom to be, mole, bad ass) character in a law enforcement show and in the end they cancel this show.

How I met your mother
I was looking for something light hearted and caring. And found it with HIMYM. I watched all the episodes in a few months and I'm still enjoying it. I can see why some fans feel let down. The character developments of the female leads Robin and Lily have been a major let down in my opinion (See Flash Forward.) I can see where they want to go with Robin - like Rachel in Friends, who dated Ross and Joey. But Ted/Robin is annoying (see finale season 5) and her relationship with Barney was a disaster. The writer really failed to live up to all the expectation they'd built up for a whole season. Lily's character went from nice, caring, meddling to being somewhat ruthless and annoying. I still like the boys even though Ted is annoying but that's what show is about: finding tru lurve.

Rizzoli & Isles
A new female crime show. (Only 2 episodes so far.) Well truth be told I only watched the pilot because of Sasha Alexander. I love her as Kate in NCIS and wanted to see how she pulls of the medical examiner Maure Isles. (I don't like her as a blonde. She's always been a natural brunette to me. But they will keep her as a blonde for the story.) The trailers are bit boring, I was disappointed that both episodes had essentially the same plot (copy cat or the same killer?) and there're some flaws in the plot (they clearly work together for quite time already and know where the other one lives but Rizzoli doesn't know that Isles has a giant turtle has a pet?!) but it still enjoyable. The characters and their chemistry is fun to watch.

Life Unexpected I have a love/hate relationship with the characters Shiri Appleby portrays. I disliked her in Roswell and hated her in Emergency Room. But miracles happen: I instantly liked her character Cate on Life Unexpected. I enjoyed the pilot so much. It was truly dramatic but with light hearted but not sitcom style moments. And it got picked up for a second season.
